Carla Todd
A a native of Biloxi, Carla Todd graduated from high school in 1975 and joined the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, she worked in the Foreign Training Office and later was employed by the Judge Advocate General’s Office. Recognizing her professional contributions, the Department of the Air Force awarded her the United States Commendation Medal for Outstanding Performance.
 
Carla enrolled in the University of Southern Mississippi where she received her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Business. She graduated from the masters program with academic honors.
 
 
 
In 1983, Carla joined the James J. Zala Law Firm. She was the financial planner for the firm and assisted the principal attorney by consulting debtors anticipating bankruptcy.
 
In 1985, she was offered a job with the United States Bankruptcy Court as Automation Representative for the Fifth Federal Circuit. She traveled the Circuit conducting training sessions on the Bankruptcy Users Microcomputer System.
 
In 1986, Carla joined the firm of Scruggs, Millette, Bozeman & Dent in Pascagoula. Her responsibilities included employee/labor relations, recruitment, new program management, compensation appraisals, development/monitoring of annual budgets and training of all personnel functions in the firm.
 
In 2001, she joined the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce as Director for Membership. She was appointed Interim Director in July, 2004, and was later appointed President and CEO of the Chamber on October 20, 2004.
 
She serves on the board of Rebuild Jackson County, the Gulf Coast Business Council and serves as Treasurer of the Mississippi Coastal Tourism Partnership. She is a recent graduate of Leadership Jackson County.
 
Carla is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She has two sons, Kyle Todd (deceased) and Michael Todd. She resides with her son Michael in Gautier.
