Promote Jackson County Business Beautificationg Award "In&Out" Promotion Campaign. Involve Chamber, Councils, County & Cities, and develop "clean" inspection criteria.
Promote Keep Jackson County Beautiful and partner with other entities to improve coastal litter ordinances. Promote the Keep Mississippi Beutiful litter reporting number, 1-800-545-3764.
Small Business Issue Manager Group
Mission Statement - Support small business growth and success through providing guidance, education, training and resources.
Objectives
Buy Local Spotlight- Spot light as different business each week with an industry link. Work with The Mississippi Press to develop the weekly highlight.
Encourage all businesses to update their website.
Develop a business awards program/ event.
Partner with the Jackson County Incubator to grow small business with mentoring, training, and marketing. Meet with incubator director to develop a plan of action.
Provide member specific business training. Survey membership for areas of need.
Education Issue Manager Group
Mission Statement - Promote relationships, relevance and coordination of the use of available resources and common goals toward continuing excellence in education in partnerships with the private sector.
Objectives
Continue Mississippi Scholars and facilitate and implement the program in Harrison and Hancock Counties
Promote "Explosion of Excellence."
Educate the community regarding the mississippi Gulf Coast Promise Zone.
Regional Strategy Issue Manager Group
Mission Statement - Engage and support selected initiatives with the Gulf Coast Business Council and other key organizations to insure and enhance a favorable business and community environment within Jackson County.
Objectives
Monitor tax reform initiatives. Meet with local members of the commission to understran pros and cons for Jackson County.
Engage in legislation associated with county policy issues/ concerns. Sponsor forums to foster "education" on the issues.
Workforce development and retention. Understand the root cause of the issues.
Communications Issue Manager Group
Mission Statement - Facilitate the distribution of information- both internally and externally, that promotes the Chamber’s objectives.
Objectives
Survey of existing members as to their communication needs.
Improve communications with existing and prospective members. Review and analyze existing communication programs and identify areas for improvement.
Act as the information conduit for other issue manager groups.
